Wet N' Wild Mega Last Lipstick in #907C Mauve Outta Here

To contact us Click HERE
Lately Wet N' Wild has really been steppin' up their game! They've been revamping their old products as well as introducing new products. I've always been a fan of this brand, for being so affordable and having decent quality, so I'm always up for trying new things from them. I've heard nothing but good things about the Mega Last Lipsticks more than any other product, so I thought I'd give them a shot. One of the shades I got was "Mauve Outta Here".

Let me just say, it was love at first sight with this lipstick. Not only is this shade simply amazing, but the pigmentation and lasting power is to die for!
I would describe "Mauve Outta Here" as a vibrant violet-toned magenta with a hint of mauve. It is also a matte finish, so it does dry out your lips after awhile. When I wear this, I pair it with a lipgloss. Any clear gloss would do, but I find that my Loreal Color Juice in Grape Soda is the perfect match for this lipstick. I also find that the Mega Last lipsticks I've tried are kind of chalky, but this one isn't at all!

The price is great, considering the quality is amazing. I got this for $2.99 at Walgreen's. Wet N' Wild should be sold at Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid as far as I know.

While the product itself has superb quality that doesn't match up to it's low price, the packaging does, unfortunately. The look of it is nice and sleek, but it feels very cheap and plastic-y. When I take the lid off, I feel like it will break and it also seems like the product isn't sturdy.

"Mauve Outta Here" is one out of 26 lipsticks in the MegaLast lipstick line. Other shades in the collection include:
Pink Suga, Think Pink, Bare It All, Just Peachy, Rose-Bud, Smokin' Hot Pink, Wine Room, Sugar Plum Fairy, Coral-ine, Red Velvet, Stoplight Red, In The Flesh, Sandstorm, Mochalicious, Spiked With Rum, Ravin' Raisin, Cinnamon Spice, Cherry Bomb, Vamp It Up, Cherry Picking, Don't Blink Pink, Dollhouse Pink, Pinkerbell, 24 Carrot Gold, and Purty Persimmon.

Wet N' Wild Mauve Outta Here(can you tell my bottom lip is fatter on one side? i hate that!)

I know I'll be relying on this lipstick when I want to wear something bold to wear. It's not as bold as some of my hot pink lipsticks are, but this lipstick will definitely bring about some stares. If you're into bright lips, definitely check this one out! I think it's a great spring/summer shade, especially for a night out!

February MyGlam Bag

To contact us Click HERE
It's that time again for this month's MyGlam bag. Supposedly the theme was for Valentines day but I don't think anything about this months bag indicates that besides the bag itself which is cute. Let's have a closer look at what's inside shall we?

X Out Shine Control by proactive .75fl. oz.This is probably the most interesting thing as I have an oily T-zone but this is marketed to teens and I'm damn near 30 years old! I couldn't find any info on their website since they don't sell this product by itself. There are 2 options for a 30 or 60-day supply and I would assume this is part of the 30-day supply which is 19.95 for both items and I guess would make this itself worth about $10.

NYX Roll On Shimmer .052 oz.
I can appreciate that this is a full size product which retails on NYX's website for $4.50 but it just looks so juvenile. According to NYX's website, you can wear this on eyes, face and body. I most definitely won't be using this on my face or body since its blue. I can probably use it on my eyes to add a lil sparkle since when it's blended out, the color isn't as vibrant.

Premier Dead Sea Moisture Complex and Instant stretching & revitalizing mask samples
I've never heard of this brand before but by looking at their website, they are too expensive IMO. I don't really care for skin care samples because you need to test them out for at least a couple of weeks to see if it helps you or not. Unless your skin instantly gets a bad reaction then that's when you know it's not right for you. Both of these samples are only good for one use.

Freeman Goji Berry Facial Mask travel size satchet .5 fl. oz.There's more then enough for one use but as I said before, I don't really care for ski care samples if it won't last for more then a few uses. It's still nice though as you can purchase a full size tube for about $3.99 depending on where you buy it. This sample is retailed at $1.99 on freemanbeauty.com

Last up we have a $100 "gift certificate" for Nume.  The reason I put quotation marks is I don't consider it a gift certificate since its only valid towards their styling tools or hair extensions. What makes a gift certificate a gift certificate  is if you can use it towards anything on their website. No exclusions what so ever. This is not a gift card at all. On the back of the card, there are instructions on how to redeem it with a certificate ID that is printed on the back. One of the instructions says to enter your certificate ID in the COUPON CODE box. It's just merely a $100 off coupon since you still have to payout of pocket to get something. It's a nice gesture but I don't like that MyGlam tried to pass this off as a gift certificate because it's not. Nume products are almost always on sale. I usually find deals on plumdistrict or other sites for vouchers.

There were 2 pieces of Ghirardelli chocolate which was a nice touch but I just hope they don't start to put food in it like I've seen in some birchboxes.

I know they had a lot of shipping and billing issues last month and that's a given with a new company just starting up but it seems as if the bag just takes longer to get here. MyGlam headquarters is here in the bay area and I'm less then an hour away. I know they were saying that everyone should have their bags by valentines day or what not but that wasn't the case for a lot of people. They also said that they were going to ship to those furthest away first so that we would all recieve our bags around the same time but again, that didn't happen.

Overall, this months bag wasn't too exciting considering December and January's bag had awesome stuff. I know I can't expect too much since this is a sampling subscription service after all and it's still worth the $10 a month but I think MyGlam really needs to re-evaluate the beauty quiz and their website in general because it isn't as personal as they say it would be. Hopefully next month will be better.

March MyGlam Bag

To contact us Click HERE
The time has come for another MyGlam Bag. I received my bag on Monday, earlier than expected. It's nice that MyGlam listened to their customers feed back about shipping but I don't think they got the hint about everything else.

As usual, we get a flyer that list the contents of the bag and what this months bag or theme is all about. The flyer says :
"After sloshing our way through rain and snow all winter long, we're all feeling a little extra dry and depleted. Months of dry air outside, blasting heat inside, and hot showers all contribute to that cracked and brittle feeling.
Say goodbye to winter's woes with out March Glam Bag! it's filled to the brim with our favorite products to help repair and restore your skin and hair just in time for a bright and dewy spring".

It came in this cute, very spring appropriate bag but it smelled so bad and I'm not too sensitive with scents. Hopefully it goes away.

Here's what I got:

Murad Absolute Bronzing Boost SPF 15- 0.17 FL. OZ Value-$6.46
Here's some info from the Dermstore website:
What it is:
A firming and skin-perfecting bronzing liquid.

What it's used for:
Murad Absolute Bronzing Boost SPF 15 produces a healthy sunny complexion that looks and feels more healthy. Jojoba and sweet almond oils help diminish fine lines while locking in moisture. The buildable bronzing boost blends seamlessly with your skin, for a natural and radiant appearance. An added sunscreen helps fend off UV rays, for daily protection.

This is a pretty good decent sized sample. An actual deluxe sample as we are promised! I could definitely use this to deepen up my complexion since I don't get much sun.

MyGlam exclusive Classic crease brush & case
The brush is pretty cute and surprisingly soft. Not the softest brush I own but it doesn't feel scratchy at all. I think it's too big to be a crease brush but it seems it would be a great at blending out harsh lines or to set my under eye concealer. It reminds me of my MAC 224 brush with is my go-to for some serious blending.
The case is cute but i don't think i would use it to hold brushes as it is too short for my other brushes but I noticed on MyGlam's website that they plan on releasing more tools to store in the case.

KeraColor Natural sample packet -0.17 FL. OZ. Value $9.99
info taken from their website:
Designed for daily use with all hair types to bring out the shine and accentuate existing highlights
3-4 applications in each packet

This sample packet is actually sold for $9.99 on Kera colors website. I don't think would pay that much for a sample but I guess if it's good, then why not right? I don't have color treated hair besides my ends which you can say I have ombre hair but I'm just trying to grow it out. So I'm not sure if this would benefit me at all.

Murad Eye Lift Perfector & Pur-lisse Pur-Protect SPF 30 essential daily moisturizer
Not much to say on these as I mentioned that I don't care for these one time use skincare samples.  You need to test it out a while to see if it works for you.  MyGlam says that we would receive 4-5 full or deluxe size samples and this is far from it.

a $25 gift card!
JUST KIDDING!
Although this is better then the nume one we got in February's bag, it's still a coupon.  Gift cards don't expire or have limitations on what you can purchase. It bothers me that they put another coupon instead of a deluxe sample. I still have to spend at least $25 in order to use it by May 1, 2012.

This month isn't much of an improvement from last months. MyGlam still hasn't kept their word about the 4-5 full or deluxe size samples. I don't mind if it's drugstore, or high end. I just expect a company to keep their word.

Did you get this month's bag? What did you think of it?

Subtle St. Patrick's Day Makeup

I've been in such a neutral rut with makeup lately and since St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, why not paint my face green! Well, a small portion that is. This is something easy to wear without looking tacky especially if you plan on wearing a lot of green clothing. I didn't want to make it complicated so I just used some colors from my Shady Lady Palettes. I threw this look on real quick because I have a cold so please excuse the lack of pictures and sloppiness! Hope you like it!

CNN & Fox Blow the SCOTUS 'Obamacare' Ruling

To contact us Click HERE
It was pretty alarming watching CNN this morning as they reported that the SCOTUS ruled the 'Obamacare' mandate unconstitutional. Thankfully both they and Fox got it wrong. They sure scared the bejesus out of a lot of folks.

On television, on its website, and in breaking news alerts, CNN announced that the individual mandate had been struck down. CNN political reporter John King described it as "a dramatic blow to the policy and to the President, politically." Fox News, too, announced that the Court had found the individual mandate "unconstitutional." Moments later, SCOTUSblog, the wires, and other television networks were reporting just the opposite. "The mandate is constitutional. Chief Justice Roberts joins the left of the Court," SCOTUSblog announced even as CNN and Fox were still announcing defeat for President Obama's signature bill.

First Time in Decades, The Advocate Endorses Candidate for President

The Advocate's endorsement:

For the first time in decades, The Advocate has a candidate it can endorse for president. That candidate is Barack Obama. Never has the substantial progress in equal rights and treatment of LGBT people been more at risk than in this presidential contest. This election presents a choice between starkly opposing futures. . .

The Advocate’s last endorsement was decades ago, but the president’s statement of May 9, unequivocally in favor of marriage equality, along with his record on LGBT rights, has distinguished him for the ages and has made it clear that he is a transformational leader and our best choice for president.

California Approves High-Speed Rail Funding

Wow. While the infrastructure continues to crumble in these dis-United States, at least one state can do big things:

It was a key vote: Federal transportation officials had warned that if the money were not made available this summer, they would yank the $3.3 billion in stimulus funds and give it to other states. And it was a tough win for Democratic leaders, who weren't sure by midday if they had the votes to pass the measure, which got the bare minimum of 21 votes, all of them Democrats. But some in the party refused to support the plan.

China’s Chengdu Panda Base has released what may be the most adorable video you will see all day: four baby pandas racing down a slide. Chengdu is marking its 25th anniversary with Panda Awareness Week (PAW), which includes several events around the world to spotlight efforts to increase the numbers of healthy panda bears in the wild.

Cotton Candy Inspired Look

Spring has Finally sprung and I'm trying my best to play around with more colors. I've also been craving something sweet and saw a picture of a cupcake topped with cotton candy and so I used this picture as inspiration.

I don't have a bunch of crazy colors but I busted out my 88 palette that I got a few years ago that's been sitting in my makeup drawer, collecting dust. I also used 2 colors from the Wet 'n' Wild Lust Palette for this look. I hope you all like it!

Btw, I was thinking of getting one of the 120 palettes but considering there are  5 versions, I'd love to hear your opinions on which to get.

Anyways, I hope you all have a  great week!

NOTW: Water Marble Nails

To contact us Click HERE
Hey Everyone! I attempted to try the water marbling technique for the first time on my nails the other day and it wasn't too bad at my first try! I messed up on 1 finger which you can see in the picture but everything else came out fine.

It was pretty simple but the only thing I didn't like was that it's time consuming! If you're wondering what nail polishes are on my nails,  used Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in White On as a base and then for the marbling process, I used Wet 'N' Wild Tropicalia and the ever so popular For Audrey by China Glaze.

Last week I put polka dots on my ring fingers using the same colors. I really like how these colors contrast one another!

MAC Reel Sexy and Tres Cheek haul

First off, I'm sooooo sorry for the lack of posts! My nephew's 1st birthday party just recently past and that's what has kept my attention. Helping my sister plan and of course his cute self is a big part of being distracted. With that already done, Now I can clear my head and blog again =)

No matter how hard I try, as of lately anyways, I can't help but get something from one of MAC's LE collections. This year I am interested in adding more blushes and Lipsticks to my stash so when I heard that MAC was going to have an all blush collection, I heavily stalked specktra's forums to see what people were anticipating and if anyone had uploaded swatches.

I initially had my heart set on getting at least 3 which were Modern Mandarin, Immortal Flower and love cloud but after seeing so many swatches and comparisons, I settled on Modern Mandarin solely because it looked like the most unique blush out of the collection and I didn't have anything like it. Everything else seemed dupable.  People kept on saying Immortal flower wasn't that pigmented and I saw a swatch next to Illamasqua Lover which I recently acquired, and it looked similar enough to pass. I also saw a comparison swatch next to Tarte's Dollface and they looked very close so that was a skip as well.

MAC Modern Mandarin
Now this is a purchase I most def don't regret Purchasing. At first, I was a bit intimidated by this considering the swatches I've seen online looked way too red and just over the top but I got it anyway and I'm glad I did. It is soooo pretty on the cheeks and just gives this fresh, warm youthful glow to your complexion. I've even seen it on some girl who was about an NC or NW 15. Don't let it's vibrancy fool you. With proper application, I think anyone can wear this! Just build up the color to your liking. This was the first to sell out but as of right now, all the blushes are back in stock on the MAC website if you're interested.

Here are some not so great pictures I took with my iPhone 4s on my cheeks and arm swatches:

I waited too long to decide on getting Watch Me Simmer from the SHOP MAC, COOK MAC collection and then it was gone. Surprisingly enough, MAC put this in their Reel Sexy collection only 2 months after it's release so of course I ordered it right away. Application was smooth and not streaky, at least for me. I can already see it being a favorite of mine.
MAC Watch Me Simmer Lipstick

MAC Watch Me Simmer
Last but not least is Reel sexy. it's a pretty BRIGHT and I mean BRIGHT light coral. I find that if I just swipe it on, it comes out looking neon and chalky on me which is not a look I like on myself so I found that by patting it on with well moisturized lips, looks more flattering on me in my opinion. None the less, it's a lovely color.

Did you pick up anything from these collections?
